The Passage is a homeless charity which aims to provide resources which encourage, inspire and challenge homeless people to trans- form their lives.

Come and be inspired through the life stories of others. Participants will leave encouraged and motivated. This is a place where people from all walks of life can come and connect with each other to learn, to share and to give back.

Throughout the day, you will be provided with thought provoking insights, practices and tools that when applied will strengthen your personal effective- ness whilst impacting your whole person emotionally and mentally.

Speakers from Business, Education and Community tell their story from a place of who they are and not what they do or have.

About Leon Seraphin

Leon was inspired to be a chef by watching his mother Heather cooking West Indian food at home. He is passionate about food and currently works as a Chef Trainer with Beyond Food. The Queen is just one of the many celebrities I have been privileged to cook for. I have worked for Raymond Blanc at the Diamond Club, cooked alongside Michel Roux Junior.

I always had the determination to make something of myself and I always told myself when I get the chance to do something with my life I will give it everything.

Tracey is Managing Director, Intelligent Ethics Limited. Previously, she led the Corporate Governance and Ethics practice for PwC UK. She led a multidisciplinary team of subject matter experts with deep areas of capabilities including corporate governance, strategic risk management, regulatory compliance on economic crime and ethical business conduct.

Tracey has over twenty five years of advisory experience in PwC advising global clients in the implementation of strategic change in areas of business ethics, governance, regulatory compliance (bribery and corruption, fraud, tax evasion, competition law) and behavioural risk across many industries.

Amongst other accolades Tracey is an Advisory Board Member for Gender Networks UK.

Vanessa is one of the UK’s most well-networked women and has provided keynotes on on a variety of career related topics for over 250 companies worldwide. Vanessa is also one of the UK’s most prominent figures in gender equality and often provides guidance and consultancy to both government and corporate organisations who are seeking to attract, develop and retain their female talent. Vanessa launched the award winning WeAreTheCity.com in 2008 as a vehicle to help corporate women connect and grow professionally and personally. WeAreTheCity.com has over 60,000 members and in 2013 launched a sister site in India.

Rob is a member of PwC's Gender Balance Network and is an advocate for the 'Women in Tech' initiative.

Markus Hofmann is an entrepreneur at heart. He has created and launched many brands and products in the Technology, FMCG and Foodservice sectors. Examples of that are the brand Pringles which he successfully launched in Germany for Procter & Gamble, the brand Deli2go for Shell which he took from creation to 20 countries and many others like contact management software, unmanned petrol sites with a heartbeat and various coffee formats including Starbuck’s self-service solution. He is currently aiming to disrupt the global coffee shop market with a fully automated end to end solution that will deliver both best in class speed and ease as well as an outstanding customer experience, combining the best of two worlds, machines and people, and bringing the best out of each one.

After a 12 year career in sales, corporate social responsibility, and Organisational Development in BT, Doug set up his own consultancy in 2009. His current work uses the arts as a lens through which to explore problem solving, cooperation, resilience, and more. Doug's work takes him around the UK, Europe, USA, Middle East and Australia with a diverse range of organisations. His arts based learning project was a finalist at the 2016 Learning Awards, and his free art project recently won a community award and grant, and has been featured on the ITV evening news.

Jummy is an International Consultant and an internationally recognised Speaker on Organisational Development and Career Development. A highly experienced Educator, Trainer and Researcher within the public and private sectors with more than two decades of experience. Jummy holds a PhD in Human Resource Management and Entrepreneurship, is Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Chartered academic member of the CIPD.

As an Equality and Diversity (E&D) expert she leads on developing E&D strategy and develops programmes to improve gender parity, inclusive workplace and monitoring E&D data. She is the lead for University of East London Women’s Network, she is very passionate about developing female talent pipeline and encouraging more women into leadership positions.

Yetunde is the visionary of the Meet@theGate initiative, involved in supporting individuals in transitional seasons of their lives. She is also the National Coordinator for Dinner with Jesus UK a Christian charity based in Hertfordshire. She writes a weekly blog Monday Morning Coffee. Yetunde’s passion in life is to encourage others to live out their dreams and fulfil their purpose in Christ. Yetunde works as a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with the NHS.

Paul is the CEO of FBN Bank UK, with previous roles as the CEO of Fortis Bank’s subsidiary in Ghana, Deputy General Manager of the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ and Managing Director at BNP Paribas.

With extensive management, commercial & operational experience in Financial Services across Europe, Africa, Asia & USA. Over his career, Paul has set up & expanded businesses in the banking, asset finance & wealth space with built-in governance & regulatory risk oversight. His core capability is to lead cross-cultural teams through strategic & operational change. Paul has served as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of various Financial Services providers in the UK, Ghana & Turkey, helping with start-ups, advising on strategic direction & guiding business transformation.
